School's In Full Swing
5th graders above and Lynn with one class of her 4th graders below.
Our Thai Government School is in full swing and our English Program is fully staffed. We have the third floor in one of the wings for our four classrooms for grades 1-6.
I have a first grade class, and two each of second, fourth and fifth grades. Each class is one hour long - the younger grades meet twice per week, and the older grades meet three times per week.
This past week, most classes were canceled for Thursday's Teacher Appreciation Day. The children were busy practicing their extremely orderly presentation and were busy making flower arrangements.
Each class presented an elaborate arrangement to the Director with a great show of respect, humility and homage.
After the class presentations, every child brought flowers to the teachers. Each arrangement or bouquet was different. Flowers from each and every child were presented by the children filing up to us in long and orderly lines, then kneeling before us.
The children were lectured by the Director and others about the importance of teachers and Thai culture.
The beautiful flower creations were another expression of Thai people's creativity and artistry.
On a lighter note, check out our school band practice (forgive the horrendous videography)
